About me

I am a qualified 240hours seasonal yoga and Yo-Chi teacher and have 4 years of experience teaching yoga to both children and adults. I found yoga (or rather yoga found me) fairly late in life after a long career in the world of Science. After 18 years as a high street optometrist, 5 years as lead optometrist in a refractive eye hospital and then 4 years as a Science teacher, I decided to turn my passion for yoga into my career. I had practiced yoga personally for many years, alongside my busy lifestyle as a working mother and wife, and found it helped my flexibility, general and mental well-being. Whilst teaching in school, I noticed the profound effect of yoga and its ability to still the mind on all children, but particularly those with anxiety, ASD or ADHD and recent studies have backed up my findings. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5237364/

I led yoga nidra sessions whilst on school residentials for homesick or those who could not sleep with really positive results. I strongly believe that the ancient practice of yoga can be blended with the modern world to help the flexibility and mental health of all ages.

I am based in Broadstone, Poole. I offer Yo-chi (link to website) sessions in local schools and group or one-to-one in person sessions at ………………….. and online. Click here for timetable.

“The nature of yoga is to shine the light of awareness into the darkest corners of the body.”
